Offers API

Offers API is now Live:
You've been asking for it, and here it is – a convenient way to access our featured and special offers directly via the BBYOpen Catalog API. Granted, "Offers" is not really a separate API, but is it a way to access the specific offers in our data. Now, instead of crawling through products each week looking for the best deals out there, you can access the best offers we have available at any given moment – simply by searching the API – allowing you to easily put these deals in front of your customers.

Best of all for you is that there's no new syntax to learn. (Well, OK, you do need to use some new attributes, but that's easy.) All you have to do is call the API as you have always done, and simply specify the offer type and the products you're interested in. The API will return all of the great deals. For example, let's say you want to show your customers our latest, limited-time offers on iPods and accessories. Simply send the following query:

http://api.remix.bestbuy.com/v1/products(offers.type=featured_offer&name=ipod*)?show=sku,name,offers&apiKey=yourApiKey

That query will return six products (as of this writing) that have short-term, featured offers. If you want all iPod offers, use:

http://api.remix.bestbuy.com/v1/products(offers.type=*&name=ipod*)?show=sku,name,offers&apiKey=yourApiKey

This shows you 39 iPod and iPod-related products with special and featured offers.

Interested in a specific category? To pull all of a category's products that have offers (all appliances with offers, for example) use the following sample query (here, abcat0900000 is the appliance category):

http://api.remix.bestbuy.com/v1/products(categoryPath.id=abcat0900000&offers.id=*)?show=sku,name,offers&apiKey=yourApiKey

In the near future, we will be expanding our Offers offering to include more offer types and more great deals, so keep your eyes open for upcoming announcements.
